How it's calculated
Total Extras = Wides + No-Balls + Byes + Leg-Byes + Penalty Runs
1. Direct Run Cost = Wides + No-Balls + Byes + Leg-Byes 2. Deliveries Conceded = Wides Count + No-Balls Count (each represents an extra ball) 3. Free Hit Estimated Value = Runs scored off subsequent free-hit deliveries 4. True Impact = Direct Runs + Free Hit Runs + Extra Balls Conceded × Opposition Scoring Rate
FAQ
Can a batter be dismissed on a Free Hit delivery?
A batter can only be dismissed on a Free Hit via Run Out, Obstructing the Field, or Hit the Ball Twice. They cannot be bowled, caught, LBW, or stumped.
Are byes counted in a bowler's figures?
No. Byes and leg-byes are credited to the team total extras, not the individual bowler's runs conceded.
Can a wide and a four occur on the same ball?
Yes, if the keeper misses a wide ball and it travels to the boundary, 5 wides (1 penalty + 4 boundary runs) are awarded.
